What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses clear plastic aligners to gradually move your teeth into position. It doesn’t use wires or brackets, instead, you wear each set of aligners for 2 weeks before moving onto the next set. Each new set gradually moves your teeth. To create your aligners, our cosmetic dentists take digital impressions of your teeth and then design your orthodontic plan using a computer. We then send all the information to the Invisalign lab where they construct your aligners.

After you receive your aligners, you will wear them for no less than 22 hours per day and switch to a new set every 2 weeks. About every 6 weeks, you will visit our Fort Atkinson dental office so we can ensure your treatment is progressing correctly. Once your teeth reach their optimal position, usually with your last set of aligners, your treatment is over! From there, you will only need to wear a retainer at night.

What is ClearCorrect?

Like Invisalign, ClearCorrect uses plastic aligners to straighten your teeth into their ideal position. The main difference between ClearCorrect and Invisalign is the type of plastic the aligners are made of. ClearCorrect aligners are much thinner than Invisalign aligners, which makes them slightly less visible. ClearCorrect may also cost less than Invisalign. Aside from these differences, ClearCorrect works just the same as Invisalign.

Benefits of Invisalign and ClearCorrect

Using clear aligners to straighten your teeth offers many benefits that traditional braces don’t offer including:

Comfort – Since you don’t have metal brackets or sharp wires rubbing against your tongue, cheek, or lips, Invisalign and ClearCorrect are much more comfortable than traditional braces. Instead, smooth, thin plastic will rub against your mouth, causing you no irritation, cuts or pain. In addition, since your aligners move your teeth more gradually, you may experience less discomfort throughout the entire treatment.

Convenience – Removable aligners make your orthodontic treatment much more convenient. You can eat anything you want, brush your teeth and floss without any hassle, and visit the dentist for a dental cleaning without having to have your wire removed first. If you need to remove your aligners for any reason, you have the option to. In addition, you will spend less time at our dental office than you would with traditional braces.

Appearance – Invisalign, and ClearCorrect are nearly invisible treatments. You don’t have to worry about feeling self-conscious about your smile during your entire treatment. Nobody will notice your aligners unless you point them out. This can help teens and adults feel more confident to get the orthodontic treatment they need.
